That house design is not 'bad', not great, but who knows what the OP really wants?
My other thought was that angled roof and sloping 'cathedral ceiling' may or may not have some serious 'modern'/high R insulation in the attic/framer space.
+ Another on the OP doing some trips; looking at pics is like a dating site, I suspect.
Fwiw, V and I made dozens of trips down from metro NYC to western NC, and even bought a several acre homesite, before we realized that site was a no go, found our Mtn home site and built, circa '99 through 2001.
An existing house is 'easier' and less pricey these days, but OP has to make some trips. I get that they put up pics/links of their interest, but it is like asking should I buy this car; none of us know, other than our opins/comments.

Of course! I forget how many double deck decks there are here.
Nothing takes the place of seeing things in person and spending some time. It's one thing to be a tourist, something else entirely to live someplace.
