I have a job that I could get in Columbia, SC, but I'm in Florence, SC. It's about an hour and 30 minutes away from me. The problem is I don't have a car and my funds aren't looking too good, but I need a job ASAP and this career counselor told me I pretty much have the job. I asked my dad to take me, but he absolutely refuses which I almost had to give up on the job completely.
I thought about just taking a risk a just buying a car to drive myself, but don't you have to have proof of employment before you buy a car? I never owned a car before, but I'm desperate and I need a job ASAP.
No rude replies, please. I would appreciate the help.
How exactly do you know you are going to get this job?
Like I said this career counselor has connections and I already let him know that if I'm making the trip then I have to make sure it's 100% before I do so.

There's no way of knowing it'll be 100%, which is why they give interviews in the first place. Your career counselor may have connections, but this employer has never met you. If he/she doesn't like how you came across in the interview, you won't be getting the job. But hopefully it goes smoothly for you.

Nothing wrong with planning and covering your bases in case you get the offer! Best of luck!

I understand all that, but it's further than what I'm getting here. Nothing is 100% in life...I already know, but I have a good chance of getting it.

Thanks , I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have his connections and a good shot of getting it. It's better than this sales scheme mess I'm doing now.
Public transport, rent close to work, and maybe dad will let you borrow some $$ to help the move.
Florence, SC is a crap town for jobs and it is best to get out.
