The biggest questions? Where do you want to live? Boston or San Francisco you will be dirt poor and unsustainable as others have mentioned. But the biggest wild card over which you have no control is health care. If you have an accident with major trauma, what will it set you back? You say you have health insurance, but as we all know, that can mean you will be $1,000 out of pocket, or $50,000 out of pocket (or more).

Agreed. all depends on your situation. I myself would give my left nut for $50k right now and I have a wife and child at home. But, I live in the southeast where costs of living are generally low. The $50k would still just make up areas where my current salary leaves me short week to week. If I was a single person, no children, no car payments, I would be rich with $50k a year down here.
