I'm a 22 y.o. with very little work experience and no credentials or accolades. At this rate, I'll still be at home well into my 30s.

Well, you have to build you work experience. Pay your dues.

What do you consider "decent"?

Don't feel bad. Most places aren't hiring externally anymore. Its just a formality to make some people happy like "look at us we're hiring" then they just hire an internal candidate or don't fill the opening at all. Ive applied to countless positions over the last year both federal/private where I posses more than the MAXIMUM job requirements and get a rejection e-mail crapped back to me in week or month indicating I didn't meet the necessary minimum requirements when I have been doing the EXACT responsibilities they are requiring over the last 5 years. .. Yea....

It leads to be believe no human is even looking at these applications/resumes. Its just some BS filter that craps back and rejects 98 percent of the resumes submitted and the remaining 2 percent get an interview because they have a connection who could get them bypassed through the crap formality hiring process.

This is the important point to be made. You need to make yourself attractive to employers. Those with potential will get hired, but only after you invest in yourself.

Those without potential will not get hired whether or not they have invested in themselves. Even if you have the experience, but no potential, you won't be a good candidate and will get rejection letters.

Be the person with potential and you'll be fine.

What exactly do you bring to the table. Let's say I'm a business owner ... how would you help make my business better?

Default It Is Too Competitive Out There

There is a glut of workers. Employers can be very choosy about who they select. You can have all of the required qualifications, jump through all the prospective employer's hoops, and properly market yourself, and still not get hired. The best that you can do is try to get a job, any kind of job. It's tough when the competition for all jobs is fierce. It is not your fault, it is just the current market conditions.

What are your plans to make something change when you are in your 30s? Sounds like you aren't going to bother to do anything to better your situation so things will only get worse.

Unless of course you have a plan to get get some education or training in a field that you could find a job in, in which case, you could start doing that right not and not mooch off your parents for another decade first.

"See a need - fill a need."
Don't wait for a job in order to be "hired."
Seek to be a productive individual that can solve other people's problems, as an equitable trade.

Be an adept at many things. You don't have to be the best to do your best.
You will have many opportunities, when your mantra is "How may I be of assistance?"

I've looked at your other posts and you seem to be depressed about a number of issues. Depression is real, it's sometimes caused by a chemical imbalance. If you are still on your parents health insurance, or if you qualify for medicaid why not go to the doctor, he can rule out any physical conditions that might be causing this and he might be able to treat, or refer you to someone who can help with your depression.

If that's not something you are comfortable doing, look for some meetup groups with people who have similar interests, whether its riding bikes or reading books you can usually find something that would interest you, it's a great way to make friends and make contacts who can help you with your job search.

Most of all, I'm very sorry you are so sad, I wish I could hug you and make all your hurt go away
