All you need to know there is no an unique african look.
People in Africa are very diversified and there is also a lot of mix with non black.
You will find light skin with larger features or dark skin with small features and vice-versa
I can understand when black american mention that they are not african you're right but you still have an african heritage and nothing can change that, you look like african for most of you so...
We are basically stolen Africans. So to deny, try and sweep that under the rug is really stupid on some of your parts. The admixture thing is pretty dumb to mention considering your average African American does not look mixed in any way shape or form. People act like the admixture in the diaspora is so unique or the reason to separate us entirely from Africa? Some of you act like people are not mixed with North Africans and Arabs in Africa.
Nobody is saying East Africans or the Fulani are not African because they have Eurasian admixture. I feel like when people separate African Americans from their homeland it is an agenda. It is like you rather black Americans feel like they are not connected to anything and should stick to a subconsciously insecure state of slavery or something.
20% white doesn't stop me from being black. My race is INDIGENOUS to Africa. So your argument is invalid.

Agree with you!!!!!
20% white ancestry is so far away, it doesn't reflect at all!!!!Anyone on this world has a different ancestry if we go back 400 years ago.
They prefer to be called black american rathen than african american. You can change the name or whatever but your body is here, so if you dont have a direct mixed your face clearly indicate that you are originally african.
Most african americans I see can be surely misleading with an african.
And yes, stop thinking that your "mixed" is unique to you, there is many african mixed.
Even myself, I am from France and my parents are directly from Africa.
My mother is mixed gambian, syrian, mauritanian maroccan and my father is gambian, mauritanian moore.
And I can tell you it's very rare to find a 100% african.
So when african american their white ancestry while everyone in this world have another ancestry, that make me laugh.
If you don't have a direct mixed, stop trying to dissociate from african by saying 20% white ancestry, that's ridiculous.
1. African-Americans are mixed race (most have European, Native American and even Latino roots mixed in), while Africans don't.
2. Africans don't all look similar, you have from sharp featured ethiopians and somalians, to broad , thick, very dark skin west africans and just about everything in between. (Many Africans are also not black, plenty are Arabic, or even European)
3. Upon living in Europe (they have tons of actual Africans living here), you can tell who is a black from the new world by just looking at them.... they're not really black but cafe late!

2. Of course not all african look alike but stop thinking that in West Africa, people are broad, thick and very dark skin. My mother is from west africa and she is light skin with sharp features. So when you say african dont look similar it's not coast by coast, north to south. People dont look alike even in the same region.
3. If an african-american come to Europe, he can be misleading with an african who live there.
So african-american, you are black, not direct mixed people.

Yes, everyone is mixed..... but Africans from Africa are not a single ethnic group like American-blacks, and on top of that they are not mixed with white-american, native-american and latino-american like black-americans tend to be. They're mixed with other things.

And plus if african-americans are mixed race, why are they look so similar to africans who you said are not mixed?
I dont deny the fact african-american have white ancestry. I am just trying to say that most of people in this world have another ancestry as well, people always move (wars, occupations, invasions, slavery, etc.... )
Now do having another ancestry make you mixed ? That's why I say if you think like that so all people in this world are mixed.
If your parents are african-americans, your grandparents as well, I dont understand how you can call you mixed.
If we have to go back 100 years ago and more to say that we are mixed so that make most of people mixed.
You know slavery it's not an unique black thing.
They were white slave, arabs slaves, asians slave. In history, everyone has been slave. And the first slaves are not african, they are white.
You should research where the world slavery come from.
So stop believing that african-american are unique because of slavery while there has always been people mutation everywhere.
