I completely agree. Great points here! Don't forget about Ace Of base. Another Swedish group who's songs were in English and they charted in almost every country. DJ Bobo, a Swiss artist, his songs are in English and he's charted in almost every country as well. Both fit that English, dance style you mentioned.
Roxette also was a bit hit in the US as well even though it is a Swedish group. In addition if a song from the UK becomes very popular over there, it is common story that it become very popular in the US. Examples are the so called British Invasion of the 1960s, as well as to the present.
