The architecture is different but many of these are very similar to what everyday life appears like in smaller cities and towns in Canada.
I think the nature in Canada is quite similar isn't it?
I decided to wash a rug in the rug washing place today for the first time, it was quite a pleasant activity really and so much cheaper than sending the rug to get washed professionally (sent a rug earlier this summer and it cost 70 euros!)
/downtown/centre-ville of my city which has about 275,000 people.
This area was founded by people from New England and so it does not have much of the old French-style architecture found in places like Montreal, Quebec City, Trois-Rivières, etc.
This area is still struggling a bit though it is not dead either. It is still a major centre for offices, etc.
This is also a very outdoorsy area. The city shares its name with Gatineau Park, a 370 km2 wilderness and recreation area where people from Gatineau and neighbouring Ottawa like to go play in all seasons. A section of the park actually bisects two parts of the city. The city centre photos I showed are about 10 km from my house. These areas are fairly close by as well. Maybe a 10-15 minute drive for most of them. http://sentierschelseatrails.files.w...beaver-dam.jpg
