Depends entirely on the conditions surrounding this monolinguism. Like, if it were just the way it was (*POOF!*), then yes. It would probably be, at the very least, much more easy to relate and empathize with far away people, not withstanding the fact that there would be no language barrier problem that so many international people face today. I myself have a huge interest in living in Germany. Imagine how easy it would be if they were already English-speaking, or I was already German-speaking? International relations would improve a lot. No more terrible Rosetta Stone commercials.
But if this were a thing of ethnic cleansing, or forcing people to adopt a new language to blend everything together, then that would just be a bunch of new ongoing conflicts, obviously.
There's also the argument of it being some sort of boring monoculture, but if it significantly improved international relationships, it would seem worth it to me.

Some people actually grow up, and learn to deal with life without partying. They have serious matters to deal with, and do not need frivolous amusements and complications to "make the world better"..
