Atlantica and Waterland sound like downscale Florida casinos. I like the names Holland and Frisia, but I assume those would be too divisive to name the whole country after one of them.
As for the USA and Canada, I would go for South Vinland and North Vinland respectively. That would be the Eurocentric scheme. The indigenous scheme would be South Turtle Island and North Turtle Island.

I was thinking Atlantica sounded more like a casino in the Bahamas while Waterland could be a water park in Orlando. Not saying they are great names for a country but better than the Netherlands imo.

It only makes sense if you extend the Rio Grande from El Paso to the Gulf of California.
the united states of corruption
the 'we hate everyone who isnt white and rich' country
the neurotic paranoid narcissistic states of america
the country of endless guns and endless drugs
How about "The Excited States of America" for our neighbours to the south?
If many other Americans feel the same way I do about our country, then a more appropriate name would be "The Exasperated States of America".
