Dang! You beat me to it.

Another thread starts out, "Retiring on a literal shoestring."

Well, that would be tough. No privacy, for one thing.

I saw that, too, and meant to post it here.

Have we discussed "I could care less?" Amazing how people have problems with the difference between could and couldn't.

Don't get me started. Steve Allen back in the 60's had a thing called the National Jerk Test. If you said I could care less, you were a jerk. Every time I hear that from someone I respond: "How much less could you care?"

Sadly, that phrase is like Soothe the Savage Beast, instead of breast. And Chomping at the bit.

Alot of stuff really bugs me.

And don't get me started about a lot.

Most people use 'jealous' for everything. Even when they mean 'envious'.
I was envious of her looks.

My ex husband says and writes 'Even know' instead 'even though' (and he's actually really educated).

A lot of people misspell 'weird' and 'receive'.

I've heard "doggy dog world" instead of "dog-eat-dog world" more times than I'd like to. And while I have misuse on my mind, I should note that I'm currently going through my personal worst time of the year...a month that people insistently call "Febyuary." Fortunately, it's the shortest one, so the agony will be over soon!

You've got to be kidding me. Never mind, I believe you both.

I saw another thread title on CD with a common misquote.

"All that glitters (is not gold)."

The correct quote is "all that glisters".

I first thought I hadn't ever heard of this before except on this thread. But now I think I do know people who say that, and I just thought I was mishearing them. I'm going to be on watch for that one.
