My wife loves to eat "a rack of peeps" out of the microwave.

I hate the word "kiosk". Gives me the creeps. It's a nervous-sounding, awkward, stupid word to me. I don't know if I spelled the word right, either ...

"anyways" not only is it grammatically incorrect, it is like nails going down on a chalkboard to me.

You're so right. My 79-year old aunt recently sent me an e-mail with the word "peeps" and I couldn't help but think that she was just trying to act hip. It was a little embarrassing to read, though.

While we're at it:

1) "rounding 1st/2nd/3rd base" in a relationship,
2) "score(d)" when getting someone interested, and
3) "winning/won" someone over:

they each bring a new meaning to "players": you are playing games

Other peeves:

1) "Machine" after ATM, and "Number" after PIN. It shows most people hardly remember what the acronyms really stand for, and that it's repetitive:
Automatic Teller Machine and Personal Identification Number.
2) "Nowadays" sounds awkward: Just say "Now"or "these days"

I hate the way the word awesome is used today. Awesome means that something is so unbelievable that you are filled with awe. Your hair can't be awesome...your surfboard is not awesome...holding your child for the first time is awesome.

I despise the word 'copacetic'. Where did that word come from? And do we really need such a pompous word for something so simple?

What word drives you nuts?

Actually there are several, but, I'll only use two---- "motivated" - gets my goat, things are motived to change

Due to----is another----Boats, Planes, Trains, Buses, et al, are due to arrive at certain times, Things happen "Because of" reasons-----it was not canceled "due to" the weather, it was canceled "because of" the weather. But.... the storm may be due to arrive around 6 pm.
