I was singing Elvis Costello's "Everyday I Write The Book" to myself this morning and got the line "...with my pen and electric typewriter..." stuck in my head.
"Typewriter" is destined to become one of those charming things that everyone recognizes but no one sees anymore. Like "dodo bird". (It's funny that I kinda know what a dodo bird looks like.) "Polaroid" is another word like that. People actually buy typewriters and Polaroids for decor now, curious objects.
Anyway, it's a cute and clever song. I'll post it:
