I just read a post on another forum where someone referred to the character Rosco P. Coltrane from Dukes Of Hazzard fame, as Rosco Pico Train.

I maintain that the worst things of all are quotation marks, which are supposed to connote that something isn't right...not be inserted in advertising for emphasis.

Are you more interested in a Free Offer, or a "Free" Offer? (I rest my case!)

I've seen that spelling mistake here on the forum, funny how I see everyone elses and miss my own.

Oh, I make mistakes too, so I can't scream at you virgode. I just expect more from a national television news station.

That irritates me, too. I think you were the one who also pointed out the use of "Fresh" produce.

I do think the misuse of apostrophes makes me grind my teeth a little harder, though. It seems to be getting worse. I see it everywhere.

I keep driving past a service station named

Smile's Fuel's

And below that on the marquee it reads

Wel-Come!

About a month ago I had a colonoscopy. The procedure is not fun and I usually try to make nervous, light-hearted fun of the ordeal when I go in for the procedure.

So I walk up to the receptionist and she asks, "May I help you?"

"Yes," I said, "I'm here to have a sodomoscopy."

She never cracked a smile. She just handed me a clipboard with a form on it and told me to fill it out.

With all due respect, You think that was the first time she heard that one?

Here's Milledgeville Mayor Richard Bentley on the alleged sexual assault by Ben Roethlisberger in his town (via TMZ):
"Anything that can draw interest to our town and make people want to visit, we would like."

"If it peaks people's interest about our city, we would certainly welcome them here."

Or people who send out printed Christmas--or any--cards signed "The Smiths." (You'd think the company that printed the cards might bring that to their attention.)
