When I went to school (we rode the big yellow dinosaur) they taught us that "you" can mean more than one person. Do they still teach that?
I think so, except perhaps in Bayonne, NJ, where it is "youse" and in Kearny, NJ, where it is "yuhs".

Speaking of regional stuff, my grandfather (1895-1981) used to say "It's time to warsh your teeth". Not brush, warsh. He grew up in Philly and Atlantic City. Is/was that specific to that region?

Default I feel your pain

Let's face it: with all the information available to people on the Internet, they are dumbing down, not getting smarter.

Many International students speak English better than the Americans they come in contact with.

I think parents have to shut off the TV, the computer and insist their kids READ something.

I don't know, but a friend of mine who grew up in Indiana and now lives in New Jersey said after she lived here for a while she went home and told her family that she learned there is no "r" in "wash"!

AGREE! When she was a young teenager and I noticed she was becoming all about the computer and TV, I bugged my daughter to read, and I've bought her books that I enjoyed. She's a regular reader now. She was so happy this week because she has most of her college work done and has time to read what she wants.
