Too much of those make me feel despair for humanity. These people are out there driving cars, raising children, shopping in stores, and yet they have terrible, stupid ideas in their heads that sometimes leak out.

I just saw this line in a forum: "Immigrants taking there culture with them."

Bring/take and Immigrant/Emigrant are both perspective-driven word choices. In this case, they are used in the opposite sense of each other. Immigrants bring, and Emigrants take.

And what they are bringing is THEIR culture... Isn't it?

LOL. I think I said that when I was little.

It's actually kool sla, or was originally. I'm of Dutch descent and that's one of the few Dutch contributions to American food, besides cookies, of course.

"Kool", pronounced "cole", means cabbage. "Sla" is salad".

My wife and I were at a small Italian Restaurant near Lake Erie last weekend.

On the Specials board: Schrimp Gnookies

Ah, at least they spelled Schrimp write.

On the local news a reporter said that a female passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries, including a broken fever.

The next day I was reading the story on the station's website and it mentioned the name of the passenger and that she was in serious condition with a broken fever.

Usually, when the fever breaks, a person gets better.

"Between x to y" always make me cringe. Just heard it this morning, from a professional news reporter (Thomas Roberts MSNBC), "Between ten to twenty homes . . ." affected by Sandy in some locality. It's "between ten AND 20."
