I just remembered my high school teacher (an ENGLISH teacher, in fact) who frequently used the term "take it for granite." No one ever dared correct her. Then there was my co-worker (also an ENGLISH teacher) who had good 'ideals' on a regular basis.
I don't blame you. I received a resume, sadly from a graduate of my college alma mater, with 3 spelling errors. I took out the red pen, circled the mistakes, and mailed it back. Never heard anything.

It's a mute point with me since I was bringing more than 25% down payment. But for someone else, they could have gotten screwed.

Just saw this comment over in the RE section. What a country.

In the Car Talk car repair forum/blog, someone posted a question regarding a problem that he is having with his Chevy Impala.

What type of problem is he experiencing?
He states that the car has "intermittent shutters".

I thought about recommending that he replace the car's siding, as well as its shutters, but then I decided to stay silent.

This gem is also from the Car Talk car repair blog:

As i was driving All of the sudden as i finished turning a corner the truck died. No Spudder like it ran out of fuel but more like someone had turned the key off.

I tried to restart it but i kept it short i was near other houses and it was 3am in the morning. on my way to work So i popped the hood, thinking okay we had a bad rain storm after all its washington state Moister in the Cap and rotor. Wellllll went to pop it off Distribtor is lose, oh joy. but the cap was dry but i did take a dollar bill to the rotor to clean the tip off and the cap too. make shift emmery cloth Still nothing when i tried to start it again.

Any ideas? I am getting ready to check for spark from the coil hoping it just a lose coil wire lol But would the Computer taking a vaction for life cause this.?

Aside from the usual missing punctuation, "creative" spelling, and the puzzling modern expression, "All of the sudden", this little epistle contains one of my favorite redundancies--"3 am in the morning". As opposed to 3:00 AM in the afternoon?

Why do people feel compelled to include the words, "in the morning", when they are discussing a time that could only take place in the morning?

In my classroom, this would have rated a grade of F.
