"Walla" is not the correct French (or English, for that matter!) pronunciation of "voila" (which translates roughly to "Look here!"). It's more like "vwa-la", with the accent on "la".

In both the newspaper and the auction company's website listing of items to be auctioned: "player piano, handmade double violent case".

Gotta watch out for those violent players, especially if there are two of them fiddling around. "Dueling Fiddles", perhaps?

Just make sure you recognize when it's humor - I've seen very few outright attacks in this forum, but a little humor and sarcasm surfaces occasionally.

Oh, dear. I guess I haven't kept up with the times!

When I was learning to spell, back in the 50s, that is the way it was taught. It was a Catholic school; maybe that is why? LOL

I have noticed now and then that use of a hyphen has been declining.
