I overheard this last week, and the person who said it is not only in an executive-level position, but she is on the board of a college in New Jersey:

"South Africa is not really in Africa. It's in Latin America."

A US gallon = 128 ounces.
An Imperial gallon = somewhere around 150 (US) ounces.

If she had been pressed for details, I think that her explanation would have been especially interesting.

Next time you see her, please ask her if her visa for entering New Mexico is up to date!

I'm not familiar with Imperial Gallons, but US Gallons = 128 oz, or 16 cups

It may be done live by someone the way court reporting is done or by speech recognition.

I had to read that one over several times before it dawned -- the liquid Pint (not gallon) is 16 ounces.

I was so tempted to jump up and get into the conversation with a "WHAAAAAT????", but they were inside someone's office, and I was eavesdropping, and I was a guest in their office using "hoteling" space.
