Thanks so much for posting the new link! I really needed some C-D entertainment. Great to see old buddy posters over there! Another journey into the unknown, probably disregarding excellent advice. Go Boomers! Seriously, I wish them all the best, trying to find an Old West refuge in the 21st century. With apartments.

It amazes me how he keeps bringing up that they checked out Sheridan but quickly eliminated it because on their short trip there they were the only ones wearing cowboy hats. Sheridan and nearby Buffalo each have rodeos and I was there last summer and saw lots of cowboy hats being worn both during and outside the rodeo dates. So much emphasis on how others dress rather than character and day-to-day living.

His other main complaint is moving into apartment complexes with lots of young people and their drama, but doesn't want a 55+ community either. I was in Reno for several weeks of work a few years ago. Company put us up in the Circus Circus. Lots of young people rummaging around the casino areas of town. Lots of homeless looking people out on the streets. Gas stations seemed to be a favorite hangout for the young rough crowd. Reno for the homeless issues probably won't look a lot better than Henderson, just a smaller area. He ignored all the advice on why not to move to Henderson/LV, but he knew better and they would love it (everything is air conditioned, who cares about the heat), LOL!!! Lasted less than a month before they knew they hated Henderson. Dragged their boat down to Lake Mead, and still haven't had it on the water. Now they are sure Reno/Carson City will be perfect... again. But before the move to Henderson it was a terrible choice!!

I think BB2 just won't be happy anywhere. He's one of those guys that knows it all, asks for advice, then ignores all the reasonable suggestions, so that he can complain. I thought the option someone made to fly from LV to Reno, rent a cheap casino room, rent a car, and do it all for likely less than $500 for a long weekend was a super option. Nope, they'll make a one week visit in the summer and it will all be perfect.

Exactly.

On this and on another boating forum, I (and other techs on the boating forum) was able to pinpoint the likely problems he was having with his boat in Colorado and that they were readily solvable, including the pumping out/disposal of the allegedly stale fuel in the tank. As a local pro in the biz, I deal with repairing this stuff all the time so it was no "fishing expedition" on my part ... but this guy sh*t all over everybody's advice, posting in exquisite detail the numerous how's and why's that the suggestions were totally wrong and not feasible. I pointed out that I was local to Ft Collins and knew for certain that his boat fuel clean-out and disposal concern was no big deal to safely and properly take care of ... there were numerous ways he could have obtained the service. Given our exchanges, however, I was not going to offer my services to him, and suggested how he could obtain local service for the problem. Of course, his responses were that I was totally wrong and that there were no such possible services available to him.

There's really no need to give him the satisfaction of an opportunity to argue with you for the sake of argument.

The "end of the saga" will certainly never happen.

The new plan guarantees this prophecy will be fulfilled. Not going to look at everything, just 2-3 areas and it will work out just fine.

I can’t stop looking at the train wreck. It’s painful at times, but I just can’t stop looking.

Eventually, they'll settle permanently in the same place we all end up.

Omigosh, he was over here, too?? I was one of the ones who warned him about the heat in Henderson, being as I grew up in the Mojave Desert, but nooooo...
