I am moving from Austin to the Fort Mills area near Winthrop University. Is there a good area for someone in her early 30s, without kids or husband. I am looking for something "fun" but also safe. Thank you!

Fort Mill is the name. Winthrop is located near downtown Rock Hill. Good luck with your search.

Rock Hill is where you should live if you want to be near Winthrop. Like any large town (I think Rock Hill has about 70,000 residents), there are good areas and bad areas. I suggest contacting a realtor to provide your wants/needs in order to find a good place to live.

Will you be a student at Winthrop?

Fort Mill by and large is pretty family oriented. If I were single I wouldn't want to live here. JMO. If you will be attending Winthrop (I work there), then I could see maybe living in Fort Mill to get the in state rate and live closer to Charlotte.
