Does anyone know of any websites that advertise houses to rent? All I seem to find are apartment complexes and we are looking more toward renting a house in the country somewhere around York or Rock hill (or 30 miles or so from that vacinity). I'm not having much luck with the web searches for the areas.

By chance...have you tried some of the local papers? There is the Fort Mill Times (fortmilltimes.com), The Herald (heraldonline.com), The Yorkville Enquirer and/or even the Charlotte Observer. Another suggestion would be to check some of the local realtor sites (as I have seen they have rentals at times too) and RentalHouses.com.

We are currently in the process of moving down to Fort Mill also. I got in contact with a realtor that set me up on the MLS alert system. That way all of the rentals that were listed through the MLS I was set an email. But we also looked in the local paper. But we found that a lot of those were older and had been rented out a couple of times and smelled a lot like smoke.
We have horses that I really don't want to board if I don't absolutely have to. We have a couple cats and dogs that have excellent house manners. We don't want to buy right away, maybe rent a year or so to make sure the area is a good fit for us.
Hi Ellie,
A good friend of mine in Myrtle Beach has a lot of connections and works with a company that helps people find rental homes/condos. He is a property manager. His name is Frank Ciraulo his cell phone number is 843.267.0629. I hope he can help you, this is a pretty unique request.
Craigslist is a great source. We post all of our available rentals there. For the pp that was looking for a place for horses have you tried Black Horse Run? I actually have a rental in there that I manage for someone but it is currently rented.
