Description: Mashpee adds to the autumn fun with its very own Oktoberfest complete with an arts and crafts show and rides for the children. There are sidewalk sales, a parade, car show, authentic German food and music, and live entertainment. The festivities are presented by Mashpee Leisure Services, Mashpee Commons, and the Mashpee Chamber. This great family event is held early in Oct from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Description: Main Street is closed to cars the weekend after Columbus Day to accommodate this two-day food and crafts fair. Shell fishermen and -women serving up their local specialties are the main attraction, but the arts and crafts fair, live music, 5K road race, kayak race, historic walking tours, museum talks, and a town-wide parade keep everyone busy. It culminates with the Sunday finals of a two-day “Shuck-Off” competition, in which shellfish harvesters show off their speed and skills.

Description: Almost every town on Cape Cod, including Falmouth, Mashpee, Hyannis, Orleans, and Provincetown, have fireworks displays, costume parades, and fun for the whole family. Chatham has one of the largest First Night events, appropriately named Chatham First Night, with a celebration of the arts from noon until the midnight fireworks go off. Cape-wide celebrations have been in high demand. You can purchase First Night buttons at the local chamber of commerce, at participating community stores, or by calling the Arts Foundation at the number above.
