Description: The World-Herald is the state’s largest paper and the area’s most relied-upon daily source of news. Founded in 1885 by Gilbert M. Hitchcock, the paper circulates through most of the state of Nebraska and a large portion of southwest Iowa. Throughout the life of the newspaper, it’s remained locally owned and it’s been employee-owned since 1979; it’s the largest employee-owned paper in the United States. The newspaper’s headquarters are in downtown Omaha, as is its state-of-the-art printing facility, which includes three presses that print five editions every day. The paper features five sections daily: main news, midlands news, living, sports, and money. On Thursday, it prints a special entertainment section, Go, and the Friday edition features an especially popular local food review.
