Description: An Omaha standard for more than 50 years, Bronco’s is a fast-food restaurant but it’s an old-school one: The burgers and fries are made by hand every day, and things like a pork tenderloin, two- or three-piece chicken dinners, and a frankfurter are on the menu. All the hamburgers are available in single patties or double, and the Big Bronco Burger (a larger version of the original), a chicken sandwich, and a fish sandwich are available deluxe or plain. Bronco’s two locations are similar—mostly set up for takeout, each location has a few booths and a drive-through with an open kitchen so you can watch your food being prepared. Bronco’s is the only locally owned, non-chain fast-food restaurant in the city, and the food stands out as clearly being of the fast-food genre, but created and cooked by hand.
