Description: Tucked in a West Omaha strip mall, Cunningham’s Bistro (formerly known as Brunettes Bistro) has a dark, cozy atmosphere and is split into two halves: one an intimate restaurant, the other, a sportier bar. The bar used to be separate, but the owners decided to merge the two and put them under one name. The menu is served on both sides, though the restaurant doesn’t have television sets, and the bar does. The menu is a hybrid of bar food (fried pickles) and classier, bistro menu items (bruschetta.) Sandwiches, fish and chips, and burgers sit next to fancier items like a ribeye steak served with maytag smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, shrimp and lobster ravioli, and bacon-wrapped scallops. The bar side has regular specials—a recent example being five beers for $5—and its regularly updated Facebook page has an array of food and drink discounts.
