Description: The newly opened Grey Plume approaches food from a seasonal, local perspective. The contemporary American menu has a true farm-to-table approach and the fresh, tasty food is simply delicious. The menu changes weekly depending on what’s available and in season. Chef Clayton Chapman has worked at some of Omaha’s finest restaurants (M’s Pub and V. Mertz included) and he creates truly innovative food. A recent menu included a charcuterie board with a delicious selection of handmade meats and local artisan cheese. A salad included local greens and pickled, seasonal vegetables. Locally sourced pork, chicken, and beef are prepared simply and presented beautifully. The restaurant is decorated in cool hues of white, grey and green; the atmosphere is simple, quiet and contemporary. Service is impeccable, and the creativity in both the space and the food makes this spot a singular one. The dessert menu rotates regularly and often includes a delectable selection of homemade ice cream. Grey Plume is green from top to bottom. The takeout containers are sustainable. It recycles glass, aluminum, plastic and cardboard. Its menu is printed with soy ink on recycled paper. It composts food waste. In-house items for sale include roasted coffee, handmade pasta, charcuterie, flavored vinegars, gourmet ice cream, butter and artisan breads.
