Description: Owner and chef Ryan Gish has created in his bistro one of West Omaha’s best restaurants. Located in a shopping center, the inside of the restaurant instantly makes the visitor forget he or she is in the suburbs with its warm wood and brick, large fireplace, live music, and bustling bar. Ryan often circulates through the space, welcoming customers and socializing, and that personal touch brings much to the experience. The bistro recently started a daily happy hour, where select appetizers are $4.95, cocktails and house wine are $4, domestic beer is $2 and imports are $3, and small pizzas are $5 and mediums are $10. The happy hour runs daily from 3 to 7 p.m., making it both one of the most generous in the city as far as items offered and length of time offered (most end by 6 p.m.). Ryan’s is happy to accommodate gluten-free diners as well as vegetarians; his gluten-free pizza is one of the more popular menu items. Signature items include the peanut butter and bacon toast appetizer; excellent braised short ribs; and a great cioppino that includes clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops in a flavorful tomato miso broth.
