    Correction: Protect the food establishment against the entry of insects and rodents by 1. Filling or closing holes and other gaps along floors, walls, and ceilings, 2. Closed, tight fitting windows, and 3. Solid, self-closing, tight-fitting doors. Insects and rodents are vectors of disease-causing microorganisms which may be transmitted to humans by contamination of food and food-contact surfaces.

    Observation: The 3-compartment sinks was observed in a state of disrepair and damaged - the compartments will not hold water unless the handles are taped to outside of the compartment to maintain the closure.
    Correction: Repair the @EQUIPMENT@ to restore a state of condition that allows for proper operation, accuracy, functioning, maintenance, and cleanability per Part IV, Article 1 and 2 of this chapter. If unable to repair the @EQUIPMENT@, replace it with one that meets the specifications of Part IV, Article 1 and 2 of this chapter.
  • Plumbing System Maintained in Good Repair (repeated violation)
    Observation: Plumbing connections at the garbage disposal are leaking. Public Women's Restroom - Handwashing sink faucet dripping, toilet leaking water at the column, hot water works at just 1 sink and cold water only at the other sink.
    Correction: Plumbing systems and components shall be maintained in good repair.

    Observation: Plumbing connections under the 3-compartment sink (black tape used), 2-compartment sink - drain, mechanical dishwasher, and waste disposal sink are leaking. Hot water is not on in the staff men's and one of the sinks in the women's restrooms.
    Correction: Plumbing systems and components shall be maintained in good repair.
  • Refuse - Areas, Enclosures, and Receptacles, Good Repair
    Observation: Enclosure for refuse is not maintained in good repair - lid broken off leaving the bags of trash exposed.
    Correction: Maintain enclosure for refuse, recyclables, or returnables in good repair.
  • Lighting, Intensity
    Observation: The lighting in the walk-in refrigeration is not adaquate.
    Correction: Provide at least 10 foot candles at a distance of 30 inches from the floor in the walk-in refrigeration units and dry storage areas and in other areas and rooms during periods of cleaning.

    Observation: The light in the exhaust hood over the cookin area is not working. Paint is in disrepair on the floor.

    Correction: Store food where it is not exposed to splash, dust, or other contamination to prevent contamination - food for the Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen must be located separately on a lower shelf. The Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen food items must also be protected from Dist. 3's food items.

    Observation: The following equipment was observed in a state of disrepair and/or damaged: walk-in freezer cooling unit is leaking "condensate" onto food and freezing on packages, ice maker is leaking.
    Correction: Repair the @EQUIPMENT@ to restore a state of condition that allows for proper operation, accuracy, functioning, maintenance, and cleanability per Part IV, Article 1 and 2 of this chapter.
