You are your "Whole Life" not just your age now.

I recently read a great article. Someone asked the advisor at the Newspaper ......
" Why some people who die at 80/90 years old are posting a younger age picture" ( in their obituary)
The editor answered........." You are your whole life, not just who you were when you died at 80"......." Your whole life makes you who you are."
I think that is so true. I want to know you. I want to know your whole life.....
For one thing I am not into peoples ages at all.......its a number.......and I have friends of all ages. I love that. It is very well rounded. Because think of this........
We "become" 21....we "turn" 30....we "push" 40..".reach "50..."Made it "to 60..."Hit 70"...and "get into "our 80's .......before becoming a" kid again" at 100...........
I think that one of the things that make me happy in my World is the fact that I can be friends with one year olds to 100 year olds.
I love that the "little fellows" in the family think of me as one of their pals!
We swim together, go on outtings together, even have our own little giggles together.
It made me happy to be friends with the Brazil girls who spent their winter in the Poconos this past season........To learn from them, to enjoy their company. What they thought was the good and bad points of our USA...What clothes they liked..What their dreams were........ I have always liked teenagers. I like to sit eye to eye with them and listen. Its an age that needs a good listener..........
I love that my kids ask me to spend their holidays with them ( that is if we can make dog arrangements)
But also..........I enjoy some older friends I have met in Myrtle Beach. I like their spunk.
Some have lived right here in PA and some as far as NH, Vermont, or NY State......
What a joy to have conversation with out- of -staters.
You don't want to get into the conversation of who has the better syrup with Vermont and NH.......You just have to sit back, laugh and watch it progress......Oh and they are serious.
On CityData many ask your age..........
You probably won't find me asking........
Its a number. A number that changes in the wind.........and often......too much.
And I want you to know your not a number with me........You are who you are as a person, your whole life.......
I enjoy you, your ways, your charms......your funny.....Your personalities really shine through!
I hope always to celebrate my whole life....
Not just my yesterdays or tomorrows.....
I hope you all enjoy your Whole Lives too!

What a great post. It is like that email that went around awhile ago saying "you are in my dash" Meaning the date of birth dash date of death. The dash is our life.
I agree we are the sum total of our entire life and the journey is the destination.

I've not been one who loves photos myself........seems the girls have their dads great "photo" genes....LOL
But.......numbers have meant so little to me......I rarely answer an age question.....LOL....
Its a number.......thats all.........some of my very best friends are decades ( woooo) younger then myself.

It came to me when I read someone complaining about a younger picture in the obituary. The person who answered talked about someones entire life.......rather then who he became old, grey, and perhaps 80, maybe 90.....100! The person was more then that age........
I think the person was his whole life. What he did all during that wonderful life on the earth.. Thats what made me post... I welcome to see him at 20 or 40 or whatever.
