Sarasota market vs. North Port market January, 2013

The following is a statistical comparison of the greater Sarasota market to just the North Port market. SAR (Sarasota Association of Realtors) released statistics today (2-21-13) which represent sales and listings by SAR members and includes some listings in Manatee, Englewood, Venice, North Port, and other areas. Should North Port leave Sarasota County?

Back in 1959, the City began life as "North Port Charlotte". It was the northern, or Sarasota County portion, of Port Charlotte. In 1974, the people who lived here at the time voted to drop the "Charlotte", and rename the City as simply "North Port".

For decades, North Port was the red-headed stepchild of Sarasota County, abused at worst, ignored or forgotten at best, but always disregarded. In 2000, at the time of the previous census, only 22,000 people...

Southwest Katy / Fulshear Development

It looks like Wal-Mart is going to attempt to place a store on the NEC of FM1464/FM1093. Perfect enough for Wal-Mart not to enter the city of Fulshear, and close enough to take the money from the people in this area. Now it's time for H-E-B to move into Cross Creek Ranch to compete against Wal-Mart.

Fulshear needs more "Small Town" businesses to kill off the idea of Wal-Mart. Check this site plan out:

Overcoming the fear of public speaking

It's been said that the fear of speaking in public is more prevalent than even the fear of death in many individuals. I certainly can attest to that from what I experienced at age 19 when I volunteered to read a composition in front of a high school English class of World War 11 veterans in attendance to gain their diplomas.
