Do you think that France is about to attack some sub Saharan African nation? No those bases are aimed to protect some unpopular dictator just as that Chinese base is.

FACT. Chinese exhibit every bit of the racism towards Africans than Europeans do. Your silly notion that the world is divided between "evil" whites and saintly non whites doesn't wash. Those people of color who aren't black often have the same attitude towards blacks that you claim that whites have.

Is it OK for China to import unskilled workers into Africa and the Caribbean when there are many unemployed people? Of what benefit then is this Chinese investment to the ordinary African?

This is the point that I tried to make in the begining in regards to Nigeria. The Nigerians especially the ones in certain government position do not care too much for the Chinese for that very same reason (importing their own workers). If I'm not mistaken they did the same thing in Jamaica.

The French don't do anything anymore. They've lost their might since WWII. They are socialist and are mostly uninterested in anything close to exploitation.

Exploiting Africa through stealth colonization. The attractions for the Chinese are the vast natural resources as well as the potential large markets as their traditional ones shrink.
The "beads and trinkets" of the previous colonizers have been replaced by offshore bank accounts and support for their corrupt regimes.
The long term outcome is not likely to be very attractive for Africa!!
