What is the Montgomery scene like? Montgomery nightlife?
I am just wondering what Montgomery is like, I have never had a chance to visit some of the southern cities that I would like to and Montgomery is on that list. I want to find a southern vacation spot that is flashy, wealthier and has alot going on and class!.....Would Montgomery qualify? opinions or info anyone?

Well, Montgomery is definetly a southern city but as far as nightlife it's not like Atlanta or maybe Birmingham. But there is a nightlife in Montgomery there are clubs that students from Auburn and Troy go to. But I wouldn't know where they are.Downtown Montgomery is making a come back as far nightlife but not quite there yet. Maybe someone on the Montgomery forum can help you better.

Montgomery is a highly impoverished city that has little commerce or nightlife. Unless you want to explore life in the ghetto in the olde south, I would avoid Montgomery.
For a flashy, wealthy place that has a lot going on, you'll probably want to consider Miami or Key West. Both Savannah and Charleston are unique southern cities but they're not flashy and don't have the variety of activities that Miami will offer.

thanks for the bluntness! I need that! .....I love the south but I am having a hard time finding, classy/flashy there (besides Miami )
Nashville, Dallas, Charleston and Motgomery were the only possibilties I knew of (maybe) and I hate Atlanta it is extremely ghetto for my taste........

I think you need to tell us what you mean by classy/flashy, it can mean different things to different people.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you're looking for re: "classy/flashy," either.
Have you taken a look at Austin, TX ?

Little nightlife, I can agree with as I no interest in getting drunk and dance with people I don't know nor care anything about, but impoverished? Do you come here and hang out only in the West side of town?

Birmingham, Atlanta, New Orleans, NASHVILLE, and Savannah would be my choices in the middle South. I've been to Montgomery a LOT on business, and you really have to look for places to go.
