I was into Iditarod in the early years of 1990's. I was able to get connected on the telephone with Susan Butcher Martin Buser and Joanna the race director. I even have their voices recorded on tape from Answering Machine leaving messages for bob blockus, me. Iditarod now of day's not so keen. Maybe because already accomplished working in the state four times. What does Rance say about this?? I was a Park Ranger VIP 1985 with Sled Dogs at Denali for whole summer. Working full time for hotel and part time as VIP. I had Park Ranger Uniform too.

baker is maintaining his lead so far. smyth is trying to pursue, but they are all running on little rest.
i can't believe that smyth only spent one minute in shaktoolik- no time to feed and water his dogs?

I'm rooting for ABM right now (anyone but Mackey). But yes, it would be great if Baker won, though I wouldn't mind seeing Schnuelle or Jonrowe win as well.

Man, that wind is whippin' out there on the Seward Peninsula! And I will say that for a guy who has been going for 1000 miles now on a dogsled, yeah, he looks mighty good. So only 28 miles to the next checkpoint in Golovin. Koyuk and Golovin are reporting 18˚F right now and going down to only 0˚F tonight, so if those same conditions hold up then the weather won't be too hard on the mushers going through there. It's supposed to be clear too, no snow headed their way. That must be nice!
