I was watching the cranes do their mating dance, off old Trunk road by the experimental farm

more cranes, the flocks aiways seem so chaotic where geese seem to be more regimented.

Put the boat in the water yesterday

Nice day on the lake. Redoubt over Caribou Island

The upper end of the lake is ice free

Stopped for lunch at the Dorshin Bay forestry cabin. Some weather coming in.

Made a run for Caribou Island to check on the cabin

Caribou Island is on the left. Our cabin is located on the right hand point still blocked by ice

Managed to land on the eastern end of the island and walk 1/2 mile to the cabin

Cabin is still standing. Drifted snow will be another week melting
