Another clear blue sky in Angoon!!! Awesome. Cool with hard frost still on the ground but as a North Dakotan, it's like spring time to me!!

Just remember not to use a straw for a time, Alec!!! Wouldn't want a dry socket on top of all that. I was absent-minded enough to have all four of mine removed the day before Thanksgiving a couple years ago.

Alright - camera questions......
I am reading up on all the terminology and stuff. Basically, I need a "good" camera that will capture the distinct colors and scenery up here. I'm interested in mostly landscape and close-up for any wildlife encounters. I think I would like to go with the SLR models rather than just a high-end point and shoot. That way I'd have lens options. I just don't want to get one that's way "too much" camera for me and then frustrates me.

Any suggestions?????
Dawn

I have a Nikon D200 with battery grip (holds two batteries and a slide in backup that holds 4 double A's), Magic Lantern Guide, user manual, charger, and other odds and ends, no lenses...for 700 bucks!
My brother has it at D & M Photo on 36th and Arctic in Anchorage.
Takes very nice picture. I'm selling due to just having bought a D300. Smokin deal. I'm not looking to make a dime...just don't need the extra camera. Swing in and have a look or talk to my brother Daryl.
He's got it on Craigslist for 795. Tell him I sent you and I said 700 bucks. The battery grip is about 200 alone.

You can get lenses at BHphotovideo dot com for decent prices. Just a thought. I might even be talked out of my Nikon D70 if you want to spend less. I have it packed in my suitcase which is parked at Dimond Parking near the airport. It's probably a little more user friendly for a beginner...but the 200 takes a far better picture.

It could hit 30 above in Kuparuk today! And supposed to be 30 to 40 mph winds thorugh tomorrow! Scarey!
