They said their accent started due to be so isolated. But by the looks of their acquisitions, they aren't "that" isolated. They have glasses and cars and other modern things one can only get from interaction with others.

I caught that show by flipping thorough channels and couldn't turn away... it was so weird.

The "Off the Grid, Self Supportive" mantra just doesn't fit with how they actually live. I think 99% was made for the camera. My favorite you've got to be kidding me moment was the son starting to dig an outhouse by hand. Really? Trying WAY TOO HARD to look a certain way and portray a certain lifestyle.

I tried to find it again on demand because I'm sure I missed a lot more of their made for tv moments.

Man we need some rain. The peninsula is on fire. 63,000 acres toasted so far. We are fortunate only in that the wind is blowing toward the mountains and Tustumena Lake again. One good east wind and Kasilof is in big trouble. One good south wind and Soldotna/Sterling is in trouble. Bad as it is...we have been very fortunate thus far.

Mother Nature would say. Alaska should have more forest fighters. Bring in heavy equipment and set up establish base camps in the dry area's of Alaska.

Reasonable person would respond: Look at a map and see how large Alaska is, how inaccessible Alaska is, what a massive expenditure that would be, Alaska has a population of only 700,000 people, Alaska is very remote and sparsely populated, wildfires can burn hundreds of thousands to millions of acres without ever posing a threat to human life or property, one cannot predict the timing or location of the next wildfire.

Then reasonable person would say: perhaps ChinaWishChild would understand after a little time spent on research, then realize how unreasonable the statement form Mother Nature is.

Mother Nature also knows that fire is the greatest beneficial catalyst to the regeneration of the flora of wild lands, as well as the great mitigator in preventing, or controlling infestations such as the spruce bark beetle which devastated hundreds of thousands of acres of spruce tree forests throughout Alaska and the pacific northwest as result of decades of wildfire suppression practice by the USFS, effects which have become evident over the last decade by the massive load of fire fuel now supported by the death of so many trees. The latest fire on the Kenai Peninsula and the fires of recent years all likely would have been less destructive and easier to manage were it not for the past policies of the USFS and other agencies.

Hey Rance, read in our little local paper that 21 fires have popped up in the interior. That was all they wrote. Are they way out there or raising more threats to communities? Raining big time down this way.

Moving forward with plans on being in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. July to December. The month of December will be graduation year of 51. 50 years of before ideas. Maybe when I am at the vacation beach home in the Outer Banks. I can take a flight up to Alaska with some of my Outer Banks friends. I will be from main residence Tarpon Springs, Florida.
