You can't seem to grasp the fact no one here seems to want to talk about Putin or the Ukraine which Bznezinsky is talking about now. Let's leave that subject alone you're the only one who feels any need to bring it up. This is the Alaska Forum.

The tool rep working with us out here at Swanson River, saw a mountain lion last night! 15 miles in from the highway, while driving toward the Swanson River canoe launch. Been 20 years since I've seen one out here.

Young male mountain lions can and will travel several hundred miles searching for a territory. However being there are probably no females in the Kenai there isn't any chance of a population starting there. Most likely some brave idijit will shoot him for bragging rights. Too bad the mountain lion can't shoot back.

The one I saw years ago had a radio collar. But fish and game had no idea who collared it or where it came from. 3 or 4 years ago there was one haging around the Kenai Keys road area for a week or so. There were numerous sightings. Growing up here...I think they are the strangest looking animal. Takes a minute to register just exactly what you are seeing! Very uncommon to see.

The mountain lion probably thinks the same thing about human beings.

Thank gawd Alaska Airlines quit flying to Russia! Second, it'd be cool to see a mountain lion in Alaska from a distance. I think I'd be more fearful of them then a bear. I guess I fear a wolverine the most.
