Lets not worry what will or will not happen in 12 thousand years, but rather what we have done in the last 150 years that can have an immidiate impact on everyone's lives.
Take for example the 3 largest cargo ships in the World- it is my understanding they spew more exhaust and pollutants than all the cars together.

New interesting turn of events- Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Oceanography has just released results of their 6 year long observation of Earth's sea and oceans. In their opinion human activity is not significant and certainly not the main factor of climate changes.
How nicely and timely it fits into the recent events IMHO.
On the other hand, 1700 British scientists signed a petition stating the global warming is man made in "Times" as a response to the climategate...

Global warming was made by man with computer models.

Why is it than that we take seriously computer modeled Magnetic Resonance Image of one's cancer tissue that otherwise wouldn't be noticed for years?

That's a much different subject, and as far as we know it, the people responsible for the production of such computerized machines and their computer applications aren't intentionally erroneous. Not so in relation to the global warming scientific programs or applications.

You take a second opinion. I noticed no one here wants one in regards to the climate issue. You swallow the hook and bait that came out of Siberia whole! Maybe because it fits you pre-existing convictions, maybe because the media says so.
My example is different subject but it involves very complicated modeling and also relies greatly on human interpretation. And for public (or a patient) a great leap of faith to believe in it.
Yet, some still say "I'd rather use few drops of chicken blood and some mumbo-jumbo to make it go away"...

Your example has been very similar to a company's CEO "cooking the books," or rigging the modeling computers with faulty data to make things look worst than what they are. What would be disastrous would be a global cooling followed by another ice age, and a lot of scientists around the world are betting on the latter.

What a pain in the azz ya know. Like we have better things to do right. Its as though data is made to fit preconceived conclusions and driving dissenters out of academia-- theres no science anymore , ever notice theres no debate on theory either?
They used to do science when they actually tried to discover things for real?

In the old days the scientific method was about discovering the truth , democracy was about popular representation right?. You don't see that around anymore , science anymore is all about progress and grant money.

The future is us. We are change. And it's time you changed with us BS. Thats the company line right? """Sure we understand that you're hopelessly backward and ignorant"", You probably still believe in God. You think life has some kind of meaning. You think your many times great-grandfather wasn't an ape. But we know better.."" . Attitudes of the manipulated sheople. I mean comon anyone with half a brain knows that the sophisticated Corp. engine running this lost country and the world for that matter have been remarkably successful brainwashing the sheep with designed ideas and the sheep believe those ideas are their own. Its simple marketing / advertising Psych. .
And these big players own it all baby and I mean all. There greatest tool? the Boobtube-- gaze into that thing with a blank mind? POISIN. LOL
The bottom line is that Global Warming is real because they say it is? right

Let the NEW era scientists tell how many will die/ how many feet coastal cities will be under water like the million dead by Y2K and the just ending flu pandemic?

Member ken lay POS? He was workin on Carbon Credit derivitives 10 years ago, yes the same derivitive trading that has Wells fargo and BOA underwater in the trillions-- every bank in the US is bancrupt! do we have a problem? and so Car.Credit trading in the world markets is the next scam big enough to make it worth the big banks time-- were talkin trillions more in indirect taxes on the masses--

If someone cant wrap their minds around this they revert to the predigested propaganda diversion by L and Right tv and radio POS hosts who make millions , golly-- The cage called the L -R Paridgm .

Divide and conquer.

Protect the oceans from over fishing , salmon runs, Water resources. and forests. Firing squad should of been the penalty to the Valdez spill parties.
Tax the big Corps again and get those bashtards on there knees-- (think politicians lobby). Its a big damn mess. And were 1 to 3 years away from the worst-- Inning 2 starts jan 1. You aint seen nothin yet folks. You know the drill.........

But yaknow Alaska sure is beautiful Pristine, primevil , wild, raw, open, FREE, pure and big . Time to get out there and be more human.

It's because of a global warming that we have arable lands, sea routes, and so forth. So yes, this period of global warming (after the last ice age) has been quite good to us humans. Now, if it was a rapid global cooling and ice age, we would have a lot to worry about because we would lose arable lands, sea routes, farms, and a lot of other means to feed ourselves. Once that happens, the most powerful nations will have to take-over tropical lands and nations in order to survive.
