We got just enough at our house to get the cars dirty and that's it. No puddles, that's for sure. The drought has been upgraded (or downgraded depending on how you look at it) from "severe" to "extreme."
Did anyone else hear about some kind of law the NM Water Authority is trying to get passed where people will only get to flush their toilets every other day, but everyone gets a free flush day on Sundays?? I doubt it would ever pass into law, but just the thought of it is icky -- especially for those with only one bathroom. I couldn't find the info on the internet, but heard it on the radio a few days ago.

There is no such thing as the "NM Water Authority". We here in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County have the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority. And most of their water conservation measures have been completely voluntary. They've never gone to such extremes as mandating what you can use water for or when you can flush your toilet. But since you heard it on the radio any such talk can surely be dismissed as uninformed paranoia and/or propaganda.

I used the wrong name. It's the Water Utility Authority. I heard it on a morning drive show on my way to work. Since I haven't found anything on the web, it does sound like nonsense. You'd think other areas of water usage would be discussed first before toilet flushes. I remember years ago I was visiting a friend in Phoenix and his water use was on a pretty tight restrictions, otherwise hefty fines ensued. He said I could only take a 3 min. shower.
