Qwest was a disaster for me the first year I was here, then I upgraded to the next speed level and they moved me over to the new system (fiber optic maybe?) and it's been MUCH better since then. I remote to various client offices and maintain webstores on an older mac - speed has not been an issue since I upgraded. It's been pretty reliable the past year or so, too.

This is from Rio Rancho, we have DSL (ADSL actually).

Two computers, ADSL modem to router, from router to this computer via wireless, about 30 feet away.

The results:
1.32 Mb/s DL
0.73 Mb/s UL
The results also here:

Default Cable and Internet?

Our apartment is in the NE (east of tramway)

What are the better internet and cable providers in the area?

as far as i know, there's only one - comcast. you can get your internet separately, but it'll probably cost more than packaging it. if your apartment will let you get a dish, direct tv is another option. but most apartments don't allow them.

We use comcast for internet and dish network for television. We like both a lot. We used to use comcast for cable (I think they are the only option as the other poster said) and they were okay, but dish has much better customer service. We live east of tramway too.

I have Qwest DSL. It's not bad.

I really miss my Time Warner service I had in Florida

We use Comcast for both TV and internet. Until very recently, service has been good but
I've had a couple internet outages in the last two months and the TV flaked out earlier tonight.

I am also east of Tramway. For internet and land line I use Q-West. For tv I have Comcast. I stayed with them mostly because I did not want to have boxes on each tv. Now that has changed and I would prefer Direct TV but they have a two year contract requirement and I am planning to move next year.

We have Qwest. It's okay, but expensive. I really wish there were more options for decent cable/internet in ABQ. There are several, but they all seem to require 2-year contracts and are expensive as hell. And I don't think one is better than the other - they're all kind of glitchy.

You need a seperate receiver for each TV with DirecTV unless you want everyone watching the same channel (which is what we do).

DirecTV has a variety of packages, if you want all the "free" goodies, you might have to sign up for two years. We had no commitment when we signed up 15 years ago, just bought the receiver at JC Penny's and installed... You can still do that, I believe...
