Here's what the opposition has to say.

Per the Treasurer, it necessarily raises your taxes by the way.

I know there seems to be opposition to it but the teachers are all in for it so who do you listen to the teachers or the others?

Gov Ducey needs to be given credit for making a genuine effort to deal with the school funding issue and if the voters vote down prop 123 then I am sure he will come up with another solution.

Montini: Bribing teachers to vote yes on Prop. 123?

you tell me.

This is an end around and rewards the Legislature from defunding schools by allowing them to stick it to future generations. The real problems start in 2026, but they won't be around anymore I'm sure.

The relative of an elementary school teacher, for example, sent me a note saying the teacher he knows “was presented with two teaching contracts to sign for next year. One if 123 passes and the other if it doesn’t. The one with 123 is over $5,000 higher in salary with cheaper health insurance premiums. That is a significant amount of money and represents a sizeable raise for her family… I am in no way pleased with the source of funds for 123 (the State Land Trust Fund), or the potential triggers to cancel it out in the future (recession, inflation, education as a percent of total budget, etc). That being said…”
This is happening in school districts that don't even qualify for the funding at all.

Sorry Montini is a liberal Az Republic newspaper hack and I will not even read anything he writes at the Az Republic which has become a left wing rag.

If you don't like hearing things against your preconceived notions that's fine I guess.

But I hope you do some research from sources you agree with that might show you the fine print on the prop.

Montini is not fair or balanced on any issues, I do not listen to propaganda. The prop123 issue has become so confusing with so many different claims I do not know what to make of it and I am sure many others feel the same way. I do believe Gov Ducey is trying to do things that help the state to grow and prosper.

Prop 123 is nothing more than an attempt to kick the can down the road and allow Ducey and the Legislature to cut taxes.

The Koch brothers, who Ducey is a disciple of, want to completely end public education. So, what does Ducey do, he cuts taxes and raids the state land trust for the next 10 years. In 2026, there simply won't be enough money for public education (as the principle of the land trust will be depleted) and the education cuts will have to be so severe (as it's almost impossible to reverse tax cuts) that Arizona will likely become the first state in the union to eliminate public K-12 education. Therefore, Prop 123 serves the Koch agenda perfectly.

If you actually care about public schools and future generations, I'd strongly suggest a "no" vote on Prop 123.

Just be aware that you are posting information for the hopes that someone who actually has an interest in learning will find it and not actually engage with this particular poster..... check their posting history and see the futility

If that is the case then prop123 is good because it gets government out of education, everything gets worse when it is controlled by the government look at obamacare for example. I would love to see a privately run school system everyone knows that private catholic schools for example give a much better education than public schools. Go Ducey
