Apache Junction or Gold Canyon with the beautiful Superstition Mountains in the background is hard to beat.

I've only been there a few times but I'm looking to retire in apache junction (superstition mountains have completely captivated me).And taking that drive to canyon lake ,getting on a boat and cruising the mountains by boat is breathtaking.

Fountain Hills.

The community is nestled in the east-side of the McDowell Mountain Range elevated over the desert river valley of the Verde River. Across the river valley is the Four Peaks Mountain Range at over 7,000 feet these jagged peaks are icons for a symbol of Arizona Mountains see any modern Az license plate. The Four Peaks are always guaranteed to get a snow cap or two every winter. You can drive to Payson to see the pines in about one hour. During the winter in a good truck you may want to drive up the Mount Ord's north face to catch some snow along the way (30 min from F.H.). You are only minutes from the Valley of the Sun and minutes to the first casino in Arizona, Fort McDowell. Enjoy the famous fountain in the heart of Fountain Hills as jet engines launch a water column vertically into the sky several hundred feet. The Scottsdale Bar Scene is just up the street along with great dinning. But let us not forget your question was mountain views. Where else can you see the Four Peaks and the Superstitions from the same view while you are living on a hill side that has the occasional bobcat, skunk, and even black bear?
