I'm new here. I was born in IL and lived many years in TX and we decided to retire to AR. I'm wondering what I could say that would provoke the most discussion. PS we love it here, despite the fact that we didn't know any locals when we moved!

Wow. Me too. Moved to TX in '86 and retired to AR in '17.

Let us know what gems you find along a nearby major highway.
That will sometimes spark a conversation.

I found Friend's Fruit Market (run by a family who's actual family name is "Friend"), with one store just outside Mountain Home and one not far from Harrison.

Great game against USC. I see ESPN still hires idiots.

Moved to TX in 1990, retired here in 2022.

I can never remember if we stayed in Mountain Home or Mountain View. It was the latter. They have their annual festival coming up. I'd like to see the outhouse races.

And Bentonville? Testicle festival. "Come have a ball..."

Same weekend?!

I am about two hours from Mountain View.

How far are you? (in hours)
(I don't recommend anyone put their exact location on the Net)

I'm 4 hours away.

We really enjoy Arkansas. Off the top of my head, before retiring we visited Texarkana, Hot Springs, Little Rock, Mena, Fort Smith, NWA, Eureka Springs, Walnut Ridge, and more. We looked at other places to retire but ended up here.

GREAT game against Ole Miss last night. But those SEC announcers were the worst.
