Appropriate, "The Duchess" was indeed a Brit, but a more formidable looking one than the actress in the video. Think Maggie Smith on steroids. She had a huge head, which made it so much fun to decapitate her night after night.
Brit, hey? I have a theory... ..that if 90% of the people of a country tend to be a particular way, 10% of the ones Not like that are REALLY not like that.
As an Example, the generality of women around here hear are painful to look at, but the 10% who aren't are beauty -contest -winners.

What happened to you guys? Back in the '60's and '70's the UK seemed to have an inexhaustible supply of gorgeous actresses..Suzy Kendall, Susan George, Julie Christie, Jenny Agutter, Charlotte Rampling, Judy Geeson...all frequent guests in my adolescent fantasies.
But then came square jawed Glenda Jackson and ever since it seems you Brits have been deliberately selecting chubby, thick legged, frumpy or severe looking leading ladies. Compare the Dr. Who companions of the Pertwee/Baker era to the dregs that now populate the series...shameful.

Mention of Dr. Who reminds me of a vid i watched (1) complaining about the PC policy of the BBC. Personally I though a female Dr Who was a great idea and as she says "High Time". Though the projected story line of her going back and intervening in various social wrongs of the past might be a bit Groanworthy. But it may be that Policy now eschews screenladies you could eat even without cream on and lantern Jawed lasses or wimmin whose value is in everything but looks is what's wanted.
I might see if I can find a link, and I don't really agree with the fellow, any more than I agree with the other vid that said that Startrek had been ruined by Liberal policymakers behind it. The ruin is through people who make Fiims but care nothing about the ethos of the story.
It's rather like the Conan stories. The later stories were good because they had the utmost respect for the original series and its' word. Had they not, they might have been good stories, but they wouldn't have been Good Conan.
Have patience with this So Cool pair of young snipperyappers, because the vid is good when it gets going, and they make the point that is Seems to respect the Dr Who canon...but we shall see.

Huh? What do you mean Grandstander? Could it be that you're just beyond adolescent fantasies? I'm no expert here being a heterosexual female but I recognize a beautiful face when I see one.
What about Emily Blunt? I'm absolutely mesmerized by her - I just think she's stunning. What about Kate Winslet? Rachel Weisz? Catherine Zeta Jones?
And Dr Who? I thought everyone fancied Billy Piper?

The group you list above isn't in the same room with the actresses I listed. It is probably more a matter of type preference than aging. My group were all slender, yours features some big bottoms and less than slim figures. Big, collagen inflated lips are all the rage these days, but they are a turn off for me. I have a friend who once made the observation that when women are judging other women, they always overrate the "striking" types which isn't the same thing as being attractive. Anne Bancroft was striking, Angelina Jolie is striking, but neither appeal much to me.
You do have a point with the "beyond the adolescent fantasies." Even the celebrity women of today whom I consider very attractive, are not as attractive to me as were the celebrity women of my youth. I think it is like with music or movies, your basic tastes are formed between the ages of 13-25 and change very little after that.
Also have Colin Firth though who more than makes up for what's lacking.
I'll have to loom him up as for some reason I don't keep a close eye on male screen hunks I trust he's not another of those young male models in designer stubble whom wimmin swoon over before they find out he's gay?
