Really, because I've never had an atheist knocking on my door, or accosting me out in public. That's been theists.
Nope some just knock their worldview into any odd topic to attack the belief of others. It could be a movie discussion a political leader discussion. Just about anything where the digital knock is just as invasive as a couple ringing your doorbell. Only online you are well into the message before you scroll away where as with a JW you can ignore after looking through the peephole. Thus the hate for those who are not just atheists but those who feel the need to educate those who believe in something supernatural
That's how some atheists are. All they seem to want to do is destroy everything that people hold sacred. Why? Their only goal just seems to be to bring despair to everyone. What's the point? Aren't religious people justified in hating that?

And here we have exhibit A!
A generic post-Christian theist, who does not hold to any specific doctrine and has virtually no beliefs in common with the majority of Christendom, and yet cannot refrain from insulting, demonizing and justifying hate of atheists at every turn. Realistically, he has more in common with a non-theist. Most Christian theologies would have him straight in hell with the rest of us, and yet, the bridge between belief in a vague sorta-God and no god belief at all is such a chasm that he aligns himself with those who believe he will be tortured eternally, and that that torture is justified, right and good.
This goes to show exactly my point, Ozzy can make peace with Jihadis, Dominionists, fundamentalists of all stripes, anyone who believes in a god. Even if that god is instructing his followers to kill him, it is still better than us, because at least they have a god...
His only solution is that those of us that don't believe, should hide, should not discuss our thoughts, should pretend and act like we do believe for social and civic unit, not defend the freedom to believe or not believe as we wish, because being different is upsetting to people.
And what I find amazing about this is that Ozzy is in no way a fundamentalist!!!! He appears to be barely a theist! But while he can accept everyone else as genuine human beings who are all worshipping and seeking the same goal, us atheists are still somehow the "other".

I'm going to repeat it again. I've never had an atheist knock on my door to proselytize. I've never been stopped by an atheist in a public place. That's been theists with their bible thumping.
I'm Christian and do not hate atheists. My church prays for blessings on, and love for, atheists, and a sermon recently made the point that those of us who are Christian were given faith perhaps because we needed it and because we needed to be "fixed" more than other people--so we shouldn't look down on atheists, either.

Some do, sure. Some X do Y pretty much every day of the week. So what? All X are not responsible for the behavior of some X.
Hinduism? I'm sure it's fine, but Christianity is what I grew up in.
Believing in God's goodness makes one a "bad person"? False. Most good people I know believe in God. Not all, but most.
The Bible is my book? In that case, every non-biblical book is "your book" and I can hold you to everything in them.
So many lame questions addressed to me. All I've done was try to answer the OP's question. That's it. I have no issues with whether someone is an atheist or not.

It's a form of religious Stockholm Syndrome.
His instinct, his visceral reaction, his compulsion, is to always side with Christians and to rage, rage, rage against their atheist 'oppressors'. He seems to have lucid moments now and then were he's capable of a certain horrifying self-awareness, but it never lasts.
He's this forum's Patty Hearst. 'Ozzy' is 'Tania'.

Believing in Santa's goodness wouldn't make one a bad person either. Just childlike. But then, Santa is all about bringing joy to children. The God of the Bible has no qualms about ordering children to be chopped up and disemboweled with swords. Associating "goodness" with a Being capable of ordering wanton slaughter seems to be a total misunderstanding of the concept of good.
Now let me make this very clear. I AM NOT accusing God of being a homicidal maniac. That portrait of God is contained in YOUR book of illogical contradictions.
Theists who hate atheists are kind of comical, when you think about it. If said theist is a Christian, they are doing the exact opposite of what Jesus told them to do.
Yes indeed. I don't think Jesus existed but if he did and came back today, Christians would be throwing stones through is window and calling him a 'red', commie, socialist bastard'.
