My wife and I are looking at Country Club of the South and also Woodward Academy for educating our children, do many people from Country Club of the South send their children there? We were thinking of using the north campus when they are younger and then sending them to the main campus as they get older or just send them all to the main campus in College Park? Do you think it is to far to send children for school, do a lot of kids in Country Club of the South attend the College Park Campus. We assume they do if there is a bus that picks up in Country Club of the South, but we just want to get more opinions. We are also looking in Peachtree Heights West/Habersham area, but we want to get more opinions on Country Club of the South and using Woodward.

It says on their website that the children are picked up at 6.55 am and returned at 5.00 pm which is a long day, but I went to a public school growing up and was picked up at 7.20 am and returned at 4.40 pm, so that is not much longer of a day. Then Wesleyan is also a possibility, but we do not believe it compares to Woodward their bus picks up at 7.15 am and returns at 3.40 pm.

Also can anybody give comments about the amount of homework given by Woodward Academy?

Any comments from Woodward or Country Club of the South people would be excellent!

Thanks so much!

Middle and high school students do a lot of extracurricular activities. The day will be much longer than that. Plus if you plan to support them in their activities you will be doing a ton of driving.

There are certainly families who live in Alpharetta, Duluth, etc who use Woodward through 12th grade. There are many, though, who use public school and the other private schools out there.

Woodward is a different kind of private school. At the north school, most of the kids will be fairly local. At the main campus, kids come from all over, a fairly large radius. If you live in CCOS, your child could have a best friend/boyfriend/girlfriend who an hour south of Woodward's main campus. (This actually happened to the child of a friend of mine in Sandy Springs.)

An intown location makes you much more central to where the children live and much closer to the school.

Going to College park either by the bus, or on Marta would be a hike everyday for a student 90+ mins a day getting to and from school. I could see using the north campus till middle school, then go off to the either the Public HS, or a private HS on the north side. If going to Woodward thru HS is a goal living near the south campus will be importain.

I live in CCOS and my children went to Woodward North and main campus. All the parents worried about the same thing you are, the bus ride to College Park for middle and high school. It was fine. They did not want to change schools and they just adapt to it. There is a late night bus and many times I just drove there at night if there were late night activities. We all carpooled so it was not a lot of driving. Eventually, they will drive themselves when they're 16.

Woodward is a great school and my children are excelling in college and I believe Woodward had a lot to do with it. BTW, they will have friends from all over the city
