Is the divisive atmosphere here really any better?

Rest assured there are gay guys in every corner of this town. Your apartment complex may only be 95% gay but you've still got a great chance of getting laid.
I'm trying to say that Myrtle Street is rapidly becoming less gay - it was gay enough for me when I moved here, but is losing that vibe. Do gays still park their cars on Myrtle Street to pretend they live in the area and walk Piedmont Park? Sure, but its just a front.

I'm not trying to get laid. I have no problem with that. I just want to continue living somewhere "very gay" - there is a distinct flair to living in such a place that is very exciting - my straight roommate agrees. I still have several years to deprogram myself from growing up in an extremely heterosexual environment.

Perfect? No. But more accurate than anything you are going to learn here? Probably.

I actually use the Grindr trick quite a bit since one of my gay friends showed me the app. Not looking for the best looking people, but it's an instant barometer of the cultural and racial composition of whatever area you are in. Every real estate agent should use it!
Very true. It would certainly work better if I had Sprint 4g rather than Virgin Mobile 3g. On ****tier phones, the "refresh" button is more like "instant crash" button. But yes, the demographic makeup of "Lindmont" Grindr than Myrtle Grindr... then again Myrtle grindr was annoying because everyone was exactly 700 ft away at all times (blakes). The Jackd app is a lot more useful since it shows everyones location by their home address-proximity whether they are logged in or not.

There used to be a gay bar in Tucker too but it closed... maybe after the new ACS data or 2010 census, the green will fade. Also read a study in Wapo about how areas with whole foods have a higher gay population and areas with Cracker barrel have a lower one. Maybe I should try some sort of geospatial analysis based in gay-popular commercial offerings.

Anyway, thanks for all the info. I'm not taking it too seriously... just wanted to get some insights.

Are you scared to live amongst straight people? Is there some kinda gay secret society or somethin? What does it even matter?

Are black people scared to live among white people? Is there some kinda black secret society? What does it even matter?

It's the same exact reason black people are always on here asking what it's like the "Black Mecca." Blacks want to live around other blacks. Gays want to live around other gays.

Good? Bad? I don't know. But that's the way it is. And always has been. And always will be.

My Grindr went crazy around 14th, 10th, Peachtree and Monroe, but that's not surprising!

Are white people scared to live around mexicans and blacks? Are middle class white people scared to live around trailer park white people? Are professional black people scared to live around ghetto black people? Is this a secret society across america?
