Is Mayor Reed's super secret transportation plan different from the infrastructure bond issue they've been talking about in City Council?

If so they should get together and coordinate their efforts. I don't see how the city can afford two separate bond issues.

I also don't understand the point of secrecy. City of Atlanta taxpayers are the ones paying for this and they should be the main parties to weigh in on such things.

Connect 400 (if I got the name right), the Beltline, Silver Comet, Stone Mountain PATH, Cycle Atlanta improvements, Riverwalk Atlanta, and I believe I am forgetting some other proposed ideas. I read something about Proctor Creek.

Anyways, by the time I die and >IF< we don't screw it up, Atlanta is going to be an indisputable top tier city in the US.

Apparently the Atlanta Memorial park conservancy is getting ready to unveil its master plan. That's the third largest park in the city and it's got a lot of history. From what I've heard they are planning on a parking deck, major reconstruction of the tennis center and the golf course, clubhouses, the passive areas, walking paths, bridges, etc. It will also link up with the Beltline trail. Of course they will have to raise millions to get it done.

The proposed master plans are now on the Conservancy website:

I generally like Mr Reed, but that article was borderline pointless. Written like it was just a way to add work to the resume.

Yeah. I am not sure that there was anything new in it either. I think it's target was more trying to get the word out on the Beltline and some publicity for Atl.
