Maybe if someone had called the police, they would have been there. I don't see how this is specific to MARTA. Replace MARTA with Atlanta, Midtown, Buckhead, Conyers and the end result really is the same.

It's different on MARTA. And none of the people on the train cared, they just recorded it. They should have security on every train car, you can't call the police if you're being harassed.

How is it different? Just because it's a public agency rather than just the street?

You can't assign one officer per train, talk about running up a budget deficit.

Good don't ride, ill continue to ride and support MARTA, a incident every now and then don't scare me. The guy probably said something smart to her/him and started the mess. If you mind your own business you will be safe on the MARTA 99.9% of the time. I highly doubt someone innocent was attacked in this situation.

I didn't say I would stop riding. I've rode MARTA since I was a kid, I'm not stopping because of this. I'm saying that a lot of people don't ride because of situations like this. At least security is better than it was before the new ceo came in. But it's situations like this that gives MARTA a bad rep.

Not acceptable behavior.

And WTF? No one called the police? That is as much of the problem as anything.

What blows my mind is the way something like this can happen and not one soul will lift a finger to help, although they'll happily stand around cheering and filming.

That is a sad, sad commentary.

I'm glad the little skinny dude who started this at least got his tail whipped.
