Page 6 of your link has a map of each submarket.

Perimeter is not in the city. Downtown has the most office space of any business district in the city, and probably has more than Perimeter if you count all the government offices (which should be counted.)

Sorta... but....

If you want to get things closer to an apples to apples comparison (which is really more like creating a comparison between different varieties of apples, slightly imperfect) you need to: Add Northlake + Northeast together and North Fulton + Central Perimeter together.

The boundaries of northwest gets the whole I-75 corridor plus all of the areas at and just inside the perimeter, whereas for the northern and northeast corridors they are split into 2 different submarkets. This is partially done because they are larger office corridors.

Bu2, You are right. Colliers doesn't include government space and medical office space that will have an impact. They do include owner occupied, which other research agencies don't and that is why I like Colliers.

They also only look at 10,000 sq. ft and up buildings. So no room for office condos or the older intown buildings.

Overall, Downtown is going to be a bit bigger mostly due to the state and city government.... and all of the large federal buildings.

I think the medical office omission is a wash. There is a great deal of medical space in most these major submarkets. This is especially true for Downtown and Central perimeter and any market that has huge swaths of suburban counties.

Really? I think that Atlanta is the most obvious choice and that Atlanta has the best chance, but I don’t think that Atlanta has a better chance than all the other cities in North America combined. IOW Atlanta is less than 50%.

My WAG subject to change.

Atlanta - 20%
Dallas - 13%
Denver - 12%
DC - 12%
Philadelphia- 10%
Houston - 5%
Austin/Charlotte/Nashville/Raleigh- 13% combined
Everywhere else- 15% combined

Where is Chicago? I can't imagine they're not getting at least some consideration.

"Illinois businesses pay the eighth-highest workers' compensation costs in the country and the highest in the Midwest, and among the highest property taxes in the United States. Illinois' five public pension systems are underfunded by more than $130 billion, worst in the nation."

This is the main negative about Chicago but just about everything else there hq2 wise is perfect

The ATL hs so many things going for it I'd be shocked if we don't get Amazon.

Whether it goes in the Gulch or at the Perimeter really doesn't matter all that much.

I simply don't get the "shocked" statements. There are many great cities where this could land.

In fact, I don't see how anyone can view any specific city as a "shocked if it doesn't win" city.
